At Elevated Pediatric Dentistry, we follow the guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry on when a child should first see a dentist. We recommend bringing your child to see Dr. Aaron when the first tooth comes through the gums, or age 1 at the latest. During your child’s initial visit, we will do a full cleaning, comprehensive exam, and provide guidance, on a plan moving forward. We strive to make sure our youngest patients feel comfortable, safe, and excited about a trip to the dentist!
During your child’s first visit to Elevated Pediatric Dentistry, we will perform a comprehensive examination of your child’s teeth and gums, provide a thorough cleaning, take x-rays if necessary, and discuss your child’s long-term treatment plan. Dr. Aaron and his staff will address your child’s oral hygiene, diet, dental development, and habits. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have about your child’s oral health at this visit. The first visit is our opportunity to get to know you and your child and to create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your child’s needs.
Parents often let us know that their child is afraid to visit the dentist’s office. At Elevated Pediatric Dentistry, we work hard to alleviate fears and make both children and parents feel comfortable while in our office.
Many children feel anxious in new environments or may have had negative dental experiences in the past. We encourage you to speak positively with your child about what to expect during your visit or to schedule a “happy visit” at our office to allow your child to get acquainted with us before their exam. Our gentle, kid-friendly approach will help acquaint your child with every aspect of going to the dentist. Whether your child’s anxiety arises from taking x-rays, doing a cleaning, or getting fillings, our well-trained staff understands how to empathize with children and earn their trust. It is always our goal to have your child leave our office with a positive experience and looking forward to their next visit!
